With the Japan Food Safety Commission issuing its final report on the safety of U.S. beef today, the United States is one step closer to resuming U.S. beef exports to Japan, the No. 1 market for the U.S. beef industry prior to the first case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy found in the United States in December 2003.
