May 25, 2010 - The USMEF Board of Directors Meeting and Product Showcase will be held Wednesday, May 26, through Friday, May 28 in St. Louis. USMEF members will hear from experts on a wide range of topics affecting international trade – including beef and pork production and consumption trends, global economic conditions, market access, food safety and the environmental impact of livestock production.
Speakers for Wednesday’s opening general session include Jerry Steiner, executive vice president for sustainability and corporate affairs for Monsanto Company, and John Brewer, administrator of USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service.
USMEF President and CEO Philip Seng will also address the conference on Wednesday, reporting on the latest results for U.S. beef and pork exports. With U.S. pork recently regaining access to China and Russia, and with U.S. beef achieving very positive growth in many key markets, Seng expects an upbeat and enthusiastic discussion among the USMEF members in attendance:
