The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) works to build demand for U.S. red meat by increasing opportunities in international markets. The following video news releases were developed from a recent visit to Asia by USMEF and U.S. pork, beef, soybean and grain producers.

(2:13): USMEF members recently visited Japan and Taiwan and found an abundance of opportunities for U.S. pork and beef exports. From visiting retail stores, open markets and trade shows, the team was able to better identify and understand consumer preferences.
(2:28): U.S. beef is regaining market share in Japan as consumers line up for beef bowls and buyers showed interest in alternative U.S. beef cuts at FoodEx, Japan’s largest trade show. USMEF has led the way with its “We Care” campaign to help restore confidence in U.S. beef.
(2:07): U.S. beef is back in a big way in Taiwan and USMEF is pleased with consumer response to the product over the past year. Last year U.S. beef exports to Taiwan reached a record level of more than $100 million, making Taiwan the third-largest market for U.S. beef.
(2:01): USMEF members visited Tokyo to see how USMEF is working to make U.S. pork a daily menu item in Japan. Last year Japan was the No. 1 value market for U.S. pork at more than $1 billion.
The U.S. Meat Export Federation is the trade association responsible for developing international markets for the U.S. red meat industry and is funded by USDA, exporting companies, and the beef, pork, lamb, corn, sorghum and soybean checkoff programs.
