The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) will honor one of its most respected partners, Dr. Larry A. Lee, senior staff veterinarian in the Office of International Affairs in the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) Technical Service Center in Omaha at its Annual Board of Directors Strategic Planning & Marketing Conference in San Antonio.
Dr. Lee will accept the USMEF Distinguished Service Award for his exceptional leadership and outstanding contributions to U.S. red meat exports at an awards luncheon on Nov. 3 at the Hyatt Regency.
Dr. Lee’s exemplary professionalism and his unfailing courtesy, combined with an ability to shoulder heavy workloads without complaint and keep things moving smoothly are admired throughout the industry.
“Dr. Lee is a terrific example of the best kind of U.S. government employee,” said USMEF President & CEO Philip Seng. “He is always ready to go the extra mile when the industry needs him.”
Since 1991, USMEF has presented the Distinguished Service Award to outstanding figures in the red meat industry who exemplify the exceptional, individual dedication responsible for the federation’s success.
The U.S. Meat Export Federation is the trade association responsible for developing international markets for the U.S. red meat industry and is funded by USDA, exporting companies, and the beef, pork, lamb, corn, sorghum and soybean checkoff programs.
