Suggested Lead: Mexico currently is the top destination for U.S. beef, although 2004 statistics show a decrease in volume and value from the previous year as Mexico now only accepts U.S. boneless cuts due to the 2003 case of BSE in the United States. Gilberto Lozano, Mexico director of the U.S. Meat Export Federation also explains another factor is high local beef prices.
