Suggested Lead: Dennis Erpelding was installed as chairman of the U.S. Meat Export Federation during the organization’s Strategic Marketing and Planning Conference Friday (Nov. 3). During his inaugural address, Erpelding told members he thought the USMEF has had a good run so far.

Erpelding, who is a corporate affairs manager for Elanco Animal Health, says he has three objectives for the USMEF this coming year.

Another important role for USMEF, Erpelding says, is to show how the U.S. meat industry cares about consumers in the rest of the world.

More than 250 people attended the USMEF Strategic Marketing and Planning Conference in Cancun Nov. 1-3.

The U.S. Meat Export Federation is the trade association responsible for developing international markets for the U.S. red meat industry and is funded by USDA, exporting companies, and the beef, pork, lamb, corn, sorghum and soybean checkoff programs.
