Suggested Lead: Stressing the importance of international markets, U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) Chair Dennis Erpelding told U.S. producers at the Cattle Industry Convention in Nashville today that the potential value of products from their animals is even greater beyond this country’s borders.

Afterward, Erpelding said the convention has been a great opportunity for USMEF to explain the current conditions for U.S. beef in foreign countries.

The 2007 Cattle Industry Convention is being held in Nashville through Saturday, Feb. 3.

The U.S. Meat Export Federation is the trade association responsible for developing international markets for the U.S. red meat industry.  It is funded by USDA, exporting companies, and the beef, pork, lamb, corn, sorghum and soybean checkoff programs.
