Small Companies Find Edge In Global Market With USMEF Branded Products Program ...
Small U.S. companies wanting to take the leap into the global marketplace can gain a competitive edge using the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) branded products promotion program.
To help with costs involved in overseas promotions, USMEF has created a unique program assisting small companies by matching funds to promote branded U.S. meat products internationally.
Applications are now being accepted by USMEF from small U.S. companies interested in participating in the program.
Funds from the program help companies participate in trade shows, exhibits, travel costs, promotional material and additional fees for chefs, costumes, signs, displays and demonstrations. The branded products promotion offers companies additional funds that can also help cover seminars and education material such as brochures and product sheets.
Promotions funded under this program must take place between July 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007. Applications will be accepted as long as funds are available.
For purposes of this application, eligible companies must have 500 or fewer employees, or be a producer cooperative or association. Companies that receive funding from USMEF will be charged a 5 percent administrative fee for participation in the program. USMEF also requires a $100 application fee to accompany the company’s request for funding. This fee will be applied toward the 5 percent administrative fee when the application is approved.
Companies interested in the program should contact Barbara Watson for guidelines and proposal format. Write Barbara Watson, U.S. Meat Export Federation, 1050 17th St., Suite 2200, Denver, CO 80265, call her at (303) 623-MEAT, send a fax inquiry to (303) 623-0297, or e-mail her at bwatson@usmef.org
