Wednesday's opening session will feature Peter Zeihan — geopolitical analyst, author and speaker. Thursday’s general session will focus on the current state of agricultural trade relations between the U.S. and China. Longtime Iowa governor Terry Branstad, who recently served as U.S. ambassador to China, will join Joel Haggard, USMEF senior vice president for the Asia Pacific, to examine the significant gains achieved in Phase One of the U.S.-China Economic and Trade Agreement and discuss ongoing efforts to secure opportunities for further growth in the world's largest meat import market. Friday’s closing session will focus on creative programs USMEF has designed in emerging markets to expand the range of U.S. red meat cuts available in wet markets and butcher shops.

USMEF's international staff members will be available for interviews, along with the Denver-based senior staff, USMEF officers and other volunteer leaders.

All sessions will be held at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio, with lodging information available from the registration page. For questions, contact USMEF Vice President of Communications Joe Schuele or Communications Director John Herath.
