U.S. Pork Exports Increase 13 Percent In Volume, 4 Percent In Value Over 2005
According to statistics just released by the USDA, U.S. pork and pork variety meat exports were 13 percent higher in volume at 431,101 metric tons (mt) in the first four months of this year compared to the same period last year, and 4 percent higher in value at $912.1 million. U.S. pork exports to Mexico, the No. 1 market in tonnage, rose 20 percent in volume to 124,070 mt and 12 percent in value to $178 million.

U.S. Beef Exports Increase 40 Percent In Volume, 66 Percent In Value Over 2005
U.S. beef and beef variety meat exports were 40 percent higher in volume at 185,685 mt in the first four months of this year compared to the same period last year, and 66 percent higher in value at $580.8 million. U.S. beef exports to No. 1 market Mexico increased 43 percent in volume to 109,727 mt and 51 percent in value to $356 million.
