Uzbekistan Lifts Ban on U.S. Pork, Effective Feb. 1

Effective Feb. 1, Uzbekistan has ended a 10-month, H1N1-related ban on U.S pork exports originating from 11 U.S. states.

Fresh and frozen pork products from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Florida, Texas, California and Kansas are now eligible for export to Uzbekistan, as long as the swine from which they are derived were not slaughtered between April 21, 2009, and February 1, 2010. (Heat-treated products from this time period were never included in the ban.)

This update was published in the FSIS Export Librarytoday, clearing all U.S. states for export to Uzbekistan.
