Argentina Reports Jan-Nov Beef
Exports At 235,878 Metric Tons

Argentina exported 235,878 metric tons (mt) of beef, including chilled boneless cuts, frozen boneless cuts and processed cooked beef in the first 11 months of 2002, according to Argentina’s animal- and food-inspection agency Senasa.

Almost 50,000 mt went to the European Union which reopened its market to Argentina in February after foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) outbreaks in Argentina in March 2001 closed it.

Argentina has now gone 10 months without a FMD case.

Egypt bought 29,272 mt from Argentina.
