USMEF Mourns Passing Of Eric Choon

USMEF ASEAN Director Eric Choon died today in China from coronary complications following a kidney transplant. Eric had been part of the USMEF family since 1993.

“I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Eric Choon, a master of his craft with a winning personality and a warm sense of humor,” said USMEF President and CEO Philip Seng. “He was frugal with the funding at his disposal, but his achievements were many and well-known throughout the industry. He pioneered U.S. red meat exports to Vietnam and was instrumental in our successful efforts to open up Australia’s pork market.”

Eric’s body will be returned to Singapore within the next few days. USMEF will inform its members of funeral arrangements when they are made.

A citizen of Singapore, Eric was born in Malaysia in 1953. He is survived by a wife and two children.
