Last Online Seminars For BEV Program Today
USMEF, in cooperation with the USDA-Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), is conducting online seminars to help members better understand the requirements of the new Beef Export Verification (BEV) Program.
More than 40 participated in the first online seminar Wednesday. The last seminar will be held today, Thursday, at 1:30 p.m. Mountain Time. This seminar will be conducted by

This seminar allows members to listen and ask questions via phone, while following the presentation and viewing examples simultaneously online.
USMEF packer, purveyor, processor and trader members have received seminar access information. Contact Lynn Heinze (lheinze@usmef.org) if you have not received call info.
In addition, it is recommended that you review the following key elements of the BEV program, including procedures, forms, examples of program write-ups, and the AMS PowerPoint presentation given Monday in Kansas City, prior to joining the call. Key elements include:
- To request an initial assessment of eligibility for the BEV Program, it is necessary to send a completed and signed LS Form 313 to the AMS. The form is available on line at: http://www.ams.usda.gov/lsg/mgc/ls-313.pdf.
- A sample cover letter to accompany the LS Form 313.
- An example BEV Program Policies and Procedures (Gaston Beef Processors).
- A Sample Quality Plan Addressing Program Requirements to assist in company planning and a Plan-Do-Check-Act chart to help exporters plan what their companies need to do to participate in the BEV Program,
