USMEF Discusses Potential Removal of Cattle Age Limit for Beef to Japan
Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare is considering removing the 30-month cattle age limit on beef imports from the United States. USMEF estimates that removal of this restriction will increase exports to Japan 7% to 10%, or by $150 million to $200 million per year. This issue is discussed in more detail in BEEF Magazine and on Meatingplace.com.
