USMEF Develops New Beef Variety Meat Photo Guidebook

Published: Feb 17, 2012
A new photo guidebook that provides general descriptions of U.S. beef variety meat cuts that are popular in international markets has been produced by USMEF with support from the Colorado Beef Council and the USDA Market Access Program (MAP).

The 40-page booklet is a ready reference to visually show and explain the products that are available. Importers then can obtain product specs from exporters.

“We have heard from the marketplace that there is a need for a resource like this that provides high-quality photos to depict beef variety meat cuts that are in high demand in our export markets,” said Paul Clayton, USMEF senior vice president of technical services. “Colorado Beef Council stepped forward and helped make this project possible.”

In addition to making the booklets available to its exporter members, USMEF also will utilize the images and product descriptions in key export markets to develop customized versions to help U.S. beef importers.

Copies of the USMEF beef variety meat booklet are available for $10 each. Payment may be made by check to: U.S. Meat Export Federation, Attn: Tammy Connolly, P.O. Box 5722, Denver, CO 80217. For more information, contact Tammy Connolly at 303-623-6328 or tconnolly@usmef.org.
