First U.S. Live Cattle Shipments To Land In Korea

The first shipments of live U.S. cattle will arrive on the coasts of South Korea in October, according to the Korean Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. MAF reports that a total of 851 live U.S. cattle are scheduled to arrive on October 19 at the southern port of Pusan and the western port of Incheon, located near Seoul.

The U.S. is the second country to ship live cattle to Korea; Australia has been Korea's sole provider of live cattle since the Korean government began accepting live cattle shipments in 2001. Australian shipments so far this year have only totaled 2,504 head, according to MAF.
