Koreans Consumption Of Pork Leads Beef And Chicken

According to figures released last month by South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture, Koreans consumed  810,400 metric tons of pork, 402,700 mt of beef, and 383,000 mt of chicken in 2002. Pork remains the meat of choice for Koreans, who ate an average of 17 kilograms (37 pounds) each in 2002. The ministry predicts pork consumption will increase 4.6 percent in 2003.
