South Korea

U.S. Has 68 Percent Share Of February Beef Import Market

Just-released South Korean import figures show that the U.S. held a 68 percent share of the beef import market in February 2003. The U.S. supplied 18,771 mt (a 39 percent increase over February 2002) of total February beef imports of 27,549 mt. Australia trailed with 21 percent (5,899 mt). Imports of U.S. pork climbed 60 percent to 1,529 mt. South Korea imported a total of 10,380 mt of pork products in February.
