USMEF Announces Promotion, Other Staff Changes
USMEF congratulates Travis Arp, Ph.D., on his promotion to the position of director, market access and export services. Since joining USMEF in 2012, Arp has proven to be an exceptionally valuable asset to our membership and the entire red meat industry. He will be taking on additional responsibilities in his new role, but will continue to be the primary staff contact in Denver for technical questions regarding all Asian markets, as well as the Middle East and Oceania.

USMEF also has made a change in its staff serving Europe, the Middle East, and Russia and the surrounding region. Each of these markets presents unique challenges for U.S. exporters, and USMEF’s commitment to building exports to the region has never been stronger. John Brook, who served as regional director the past nine years, has departed USMEF, but experienced staff and representatives continue to work on behalf of the U.S. industry and support export activities throughout the region. Until a new regional director is on board, USMEF members with marketing and activity-related questions should contact Dan Halstrom, senior vice president for marketing, at the Denver headquarters. For market access or regulatory questions, please contact Thad Lively, senior vice president for trade access, or a member of the USMEF Technical Services Department.
Also departing USMEF is Jianwen Liu, who served for five years as director of government affairs and analysis in our Beijing office. USMEF is actively seeking to fill this position but in the meantime, Marketing Director Ming Liang will oversee day-to-day operations in China.
