USDA Looking for Comments on Domestic WPM Requirements
USDA Looking for Comments on Domestic WPM Requirements
USMEF members should be aware that the USDA is considering extending requirements for wood packing materials (WPM) such as pallets, crates and blocking materials, to domestic transportation. The National Wooden Pallet Association supports the USDA effort and the Agriculture Transportation Coalition (AgTC) foresees little opposition. The USDA is accepting comments until Oct. 26. For details on how to comment, click here.
For this and other transportation issues, www.USMEF.org has a special AgTC Web page. Recent postings include a prediction for transportation rates in 2010.
