'Pork Powerhouse' looks for new money

As feed costs rise and U.S.hog numbers remain high, the nation's largest pork producers are reevaluating their businesses heading into spring. Heartland Pork, Alden, Iowa, is one “Pork Powerhouse” considering new options. "Due to the continued depressed hog market, we are exploring opportunities to bring new financial partners into our business," Bruce Rastetter, Heartland president and CEO, told Agriculture Online. "We are in the middle of that process now."

U.S. soybean sales slow despite historic rallies

CHICAGO, Feb 25 (Reuters) - Multiyear highs in U.S. corn and soybean prices this week sparked farmers to sell new- and old-crop corn but they remain hesitant to price many beans, waiting for even higher prices, grain industry sources said.
