U.S. Beef, Pork Showcased at St. Petersburg Exhibition
USMEF displayed a range of high-quality U.S. beef and pork cuts at Peterfood 2009, an important regional food industry exhibition held Nov. 17-19 in St. Petersburg. Participation in the event was made possible through the support of the Beef Checkoff and Pork Checkoff programs.
About 200 exhibitors took part in the 18th edition of Peterfood, which attracts meat buyers and other food industry professionals from western Russia and the nearby region.

“Peterfood is a good example of a regional trade show that allows us to share information about U.S. pork and beef with representatives from outside of this area’s large population centers,” said USMEF St. Petersburg Manager Yuri Barutkin. “This event reaches a very wide audience of potential customers from the region’s HR (hotel, restaurant and institutional), retail and meat processing sectors, and we were able to deliver valuable information about the advantages U.S. pork and beef have to offer.”
