USDA Announces Export Verification Program Changes

The USDA Agriculture Marketing Service announced today that the EV Programs Additional Requirements document has been revised. Sections 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 have minor revisions. Sections 5 and 6 have been significantly revised. All revisions are effective April 3.

Companies must revise their approved USDA QSA-EV Program quality manuals to address each requirement, as applicable, and submit specific information to the ARC Branch. For more information, contact ARCBranch@usda.gov.

The USDA Food Safety Inspection Service also announced its updated Export Verification Training is available for inspectors. Companies are urged to review these updates with inspectors to ensure there are no discrepancies that could lead to possible errors.

For air freight shipments, be sure to note that the shipment will be air freighted along with any known pertinent details regarding the air shipment when submitting documents for the Statement of Verification as AMS has indicated that air freight shipment documents will be prioritized if requested.
