FSIS Issues Directive For Exported And Then Returned Products
USDA Food and Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) released a new directive yesterday (Sept. 5) to provide instruction to FSIS inspection personnel when U.S. exported products are returned to the United States
The Office of International Affairs will use a new form, FSIS form, 9010-1, Application for the Return of Exported Products to the United States, in determining whether product will be approved to enter the United States, and whether the product will require inspection at a federally-inspected facility.
The Import Inspection Division will use new FSIS form 9010-2, U.S. Exported and Returned Product Facility for Reinspection Concurrence, to request reinspection.
