Published: Oct 13, 2025

Building on strong export momentum in Panama, USMEF partnered with SaborUSA on an instructional masterclass for culinary students at the Panama International Hotel School in Panama City. SaborUSA is a marketing campaign by USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service to promote U.S. food and beverages in Latin America.

Noted Chef Alonso Williams addressed food safety practices, explored various cooking techniques and discussed international cooking trends while showcasing the quality and versatility of U.S. beef tri tip and U.S. pork loin.

USMEF Regional Director Gerardo Rodriguez and Central America Representative Lucia Ruano welcomed the students and answered questions about U.S. red meat production and quality.

The masterclass was made possible with support from the Beef Checkoff Program, the National Pork Board, and USDA’s Regional Agricultural Promotion Program.
