Two Departures from USMEF

After more than four years with USMEF, Ricardo Vernazza-Paganini, director, Central and South America, is leaving USMEF on May 13 to take a position with Philip Morris International overlooking the strategy and planning for a new division that is closely related to agricultural production. He will be based in Virginia for six months before relocating to Lausanne, Switzerland.

With the departure of Vernazza-Paganini, USMEF-Mexico’s Gerardo Rodriguez will oversee marketing in Central America while Nelson Huerta will monitor technical issues arising in Central and South America.

On the other side of the Atlantic, long-time USMEF consultant Monty Brown, who has represented USMEF in Europe for 11 years, has moved to the private sector this month. He joined EU importer and distributor Giraudi International Trading of Monaco, and Giraudi has now joined USMEF. Brown’s responsibilities with Giraudi will be to develop and expand its EU meat business and imports of U.S. meat.

“USMEF wishes continued success to both Ricardo and Monty,” said President & CEO Philip Seng, “and I congratulate Gerardo and Nelson on their expanded roles.”
