Threat to Exports to Ukraine Lifted

Exports to Ukraine are no longer in danger of being interrupted. The Ukrainian government announced last March that it would require individual plant inspections or halt meat imports from the U.S. on Jan. 14, 2010. The Ukrainian State Department for Veterinary Medicine (VS) cancelled this provision and the Ministry of Justice approved the cancellation on Dec. 28. Ukraine then informed the World Trade Organization this month.
