Taiwan/China   USMEF Provides Instructional Video CD On U.S. Beef For Chinese Retailers   USMEF has created an instructional video compact disc that describes optimal retail presentation and merchandising specifications of U.S. beef cuts to Chinese retailers. The CD contains video demonstrations narrated in Mandarin Chinese of U.S. beef cut preparation; USMEF is distributing it to many retailers of U.S. beef in Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. The CD is also available to USMEF members who wish to educate prospective international buyers in these regions on U.S. beef cut specifications and merchandising suggestions.   “The idea for the video occurred when we recognized the difficulty in comprehending the fabrication of several underutilized cuts like top blade muscle,” said USMEF Vice President Asia Pacific Joel Haggard. “Although we provide live demonstrations of these techniques during our retail seminars and training courses, a video helps to reinforce these techniques through repetitive viewing. By educating Asian retailers about recommended preparation and presentation of U.S. beef cuts, we can increase U.S. beef export sales.”   USMEF members interested in obtaining a copy of the training video CD may contact USMEF Marketing Specialist Leah Suellentrop at lsuellentrop@usmef.org.
