USMEF Encourages U.S. Beef For Holiday Celebrations

USMEF worked with three highly-regarded restaurants in Taiwan on a winter promotion to successfully introduce U.S. beef on Christmas menus. U.S. beef attracted almost 700 people to Bull Fight Steak House and ChuShao Sukiyaki in Taipei and Noble Family Steak House in Kaohsiung on Dec. 22.

Internet and newspaper advertisements attracted people to the event, where consumers waited in long lines to eat U.S. beef and have an opportunity to win coupons for future visits to the restaurants.

Diners sampled U.S. boneless beef rib-eye steak and boneless short ribs. A man dining with his family at Bull Fight House said U.S. beef is always his family’s first choice when celebrating.

“We are aiming to associate U.S. beef with all celebratory events, not just those during the Christmas season,” USMEF Taiwan Director Davis Wu said.

U.S. boneless beef rib-eye steak and boneless short ribs are the most popular cuts in Taiwan since the market reopened. Many family-style restaurants are promoting these two cuts since the price is reasonable.
