USMEF Combines Lantern Festival Celebration With U.S. Beef Promotion

Impossible to miss, a giant illuminated cow and corn cob stand tall at the entrance of the Living Mall in Taipei. USMEF Taiwan Director Davis Wu unveiled the cow in a ceremony last Saturday (Mar. 3) that attracted media attention and launched a U.S. beef promotion celebrating the annual Lantern Festival.

A photo contest revolving around the cow is not only educating Taiwanese consumers about the quality attributes of U.S. beef, but is also encouraging them to be creative by submitting electronic photos of the cow and a creative story that incorporates U.S. beef facts.

“This is a fun way to introduce consumers to the benefits of high quality U.S. beef and encourage them to incorporate it into their daily lifestyles,” said Wu. “The promotion prompts consumers to learn more about U.S. beef and to be awarded for their creativity.”

Each entry will be reviewed and voted on. Winners will be selected Mar. 30. Winners receive prizes and their entries will be posted on the USMEF Taiwan Web site.
