Taiwan Accepts New Health Certificate Language

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has informed USMEF that Taiwan’s Department of Health accepted (September 9) the following amendment to the language on the USDA FSIS export certificate for Taiwan:

"The beef or beef product either was derived from cattle slaughtered in the U.S. or was legally imported into the U.S. from a country currently eligible to export to Taiwan."

Taiwan will continue to accept beef products from all FSIS-inspected plants accompanied by a health certificate with this wording. A written confirmation of this language has yet to be received.
