Taiwan Hotel First To Promote U.S. Pork

The Grand Hi-Lai, a luxury hotel located in the heart of Kaohsiung, recently became the first in Taiwan to serve and promote U.S. pork.

The hotel introduced pork jowl meat to its menu in May and will feature it year around, thanks to the efforts of USMEF Taiwan.

“Pork is the most common protein resource for Taiwanese people,” said Ron Chien, chef of the Grand Hi-Lai Steak House restaurant. “We all believed that domestic pork was one of the best in the world until we tried U.S. pork and found it to be juicier and also have a high quality of taste.”
