Rib Fingers Price Jumps; USMEF Promotes Chuck Eye Roll

USMEF-Taiwan reports that both U.S. and Australian rib fingers increased 10-12 percent in price in November and were scarce enough for buyers to turn to domestic product. In addition, increases in price and scarcity of U.S. and New Zealand rib eye sent buyers looking for Australian and Canadian product. USMEF-Taiwan estimates U.S. beef sales in Taiwan fell 10-15 percent due to the West Coast dock dispute. USMEF has been promoting chuck eye roll to importers and detailing its many uses in such dishes as sukiyaki, yakiniku and shabu shabu.  USMEF expects chuck eye roll will compete with New Zealand and Australian rib eye.
