U.S. Pork Beach Cookout Attracts Vacationers

USMEF set up a huge tent last weekend at Naksan beach, a popular vacation area, and fired up six charcoal grills to provide free samples of grilled U.S. pork Boston butt and pork sausages along with nachos and soft drinks to vacationers.

Coupons for free U.S. pork samples were distributed to visitors and a prize drawing was held to giveaway souvenirs featuring the U.S. pork logo, such as a beach ball, T-shirt, and pork marinade kit.

There was a great turnout on the first day of the promotion. Not only did scores of vacationers show up for the first day of the U.S. pork grilling fiesta, but local consumers in the Naksan area also were there to enjoy U.S. pork.

The promotion originally was scheduled for Aug. 3-5, but it was cut short due to a disturbance caused by a protester. The many visitors in line for U.S. pork samples did not leave the line when the disturbance occurred.
