U.S. Pork To Be Featured At Popular Restaurant Chain
USMEF is working with Oredream, a meat importer and operator of a chain of restaurants, to promote a special U.S. pork menu at nearly 30 restaurant locations starting Oct. 19.
Customers ordering from the U.S. pork menu will be given an instant scratch card that lists five U.S. pork facts. Customers choose a pork fact and scratch it to win its reward. Prizes include durable USMEF shopping bags, free pork menu items and beverages.
During the event, Oredream staff will wear special shirts featuring the U.S. pork logo and store banners will help draw consumer attention to the promotion.
According to Korean statistics, U.S. pork has a 58 percent share of chilled imported pork and a 25 percent share of frozen imported pork. Canada is the main competitor to the United States in the imported pork market.
U.S. pork and pork variety meat exports to Korea through July of this year remained stable in volume at 58,157 and increased 14 percent in value to $139.6 million compared to the same time last year.
USMEF positions U.S. pork as a high-quality product with characteristics similar to domestic pork, but at a more affordable price.
