U.S. Captures 66.4 Percent Of Korean Beef Import Market

The U.S. beef industry captured 66.4 percent of South Korea's import market in the first half of 2003, according to statistics from the Korean government. South Korea imported 106,539 mt of U.S. beef products from Jan-June 2003; Australia's market share was 22.7 percent, 36,491 mt. South Korea imported 14 percent more beef in the first six months of 2003 (160,437 mt) compared to 2002.
