Reefer Shipping Options Conference Call

The Agriculture Transportation Coalition (AgTC) reports that “the situation is dire for those requiring refrigerated ocean transport. Some AgTC members are now looking at developing some reefer shipping alternatives, including chartering reefer break bulk vessels and/or smaller reefer container ships.”

The issue will be explored at this week's AgTC Ag Transportation Conference in San Francisco, and on a conference call for all reefer shippers on Friday, June 20. Members are invited to review the following questions and send their responses to Paul Clayton (pclayton@usmef.org) or Courtney Heller (cheller@usmef.org), who will participate on the call for USMEF. Please respond by Wednesday, June 18.

  • What are your primary origins?
  • What are your primary destinations?
  • Do you need solid frozen temperature or cooling temperature?
  • Can you utilize break bulk service, or does the customer require delivery in the container?

Also, if members want to join in the call themselves, please let Paul or Courtney know and they will provide the call information.
