Recent Changes to USMEF Export Newsline

Published: Aug 08, 2013
Over the past few weeks, you may have noticed a shift in the content of our weekly USMEF Export Newsline. In an effort to make this newsletter a more valuable, “must read” publication for our members, USMEF is intensifying the focus on market analysis, market intelligence and trade access issues.

The Export Newsline will also continue to cover major marketing activities, trade shows and trade team visits, which are extremely important functions. But I feel this additional, analytical content will allow our members to see a more complete picture of how USMEF works to expand U.S. beef, pork and lamb exports. This is also a great way for you to see firsthand reports from our international directors and other staff we have on the ground in key overseas markets, and to gain insights into our overall marketing strategies.

These changes also allow the Export Newsline and Exporter Update to complement each other. In the two years since we began publishing the Exporter Update, it has become a very valuable resource for our members. But it is important that the Update remain a concise, efficient bulletin that can be scanned quickly, so that our members know immediately if any action is required on their part. You will now find that many key issues are identified and explained briefly in the Exporter Update, then examined in much more detail in our Export Newsline feature articles.

If you haven’t had an opportunity to read the Export Newsline lately, recent issues are archived online. Please take some time to review the improvements we have made, and I look forward to your feedback.

Sincerely,

Philip M. Seng
USMEF President and CEO
