Processed, Prepared Meat Products Now Ineligible
Exporters should take note that as of May 1, 2010, processed or prepared meat or poultry products are not eligible for export to Russia. As indicated in previous notices from USMEF, a list is being developed of further processing and cold storage establishments that will be approved to export processed or prepared meat or poultry products to Russia. Establishments must submit a completed FSIS Form 9080-3 to be eligible, and only those on the approved list will be eligible to export these products to Russia.
At this time, however, no U.S. plants are approved to export prepared or processed meat or poultry products to Russia, even if they have already submitted their FSIS Form 9080-3. USMEF will provide further updates on this situation as more information becomes available.
