Pork to Croatia Must Comply With EU Requirements
Exporters should note that pork exports for Croatia must now comply with "European Union Requirements," and only plants approved to export pork to the European Union are eligible to export to Croatia. Please refer to the EU section of the FSIS Export Library for the list of eligible establishments.
Croatia does not permit imports of U.S. beef. See the Croatia section of the online FSIS Library of Export Requirements for details.
Pork Casings for Japan
The statement for imported pork casings exported to Japan has been updated in the FSIS Export Library, and reads as follows:
"Obtain FSIS 9060-18 for imported pork casings. The following statement must be in the Remarks section or on an FSIS letterhead certificate:*
"The artificial casings in this processed meat product were legally imported into the United Sates from Japan and are prepared exclusively from hides and skins as certified by MAFF health certificate (number__________, showing the manufacturer of the artificial casings to be _____________). The U.S. meat production facility maintains a system for tracing the origin of the casings and verifies that only MAFF certified casing have been used."
Russian Approved Plant Lists Updated
The Food Safety and Inspection Service has updated its approved beef and pork plant lists for Russia. See the FSIS Export Library for the lists.
