Supreme Court Upholds Pork Checkoff

The U.S. Supreme Court set aside a lower court ruling declaring the Pork Checkoff unconstitutional and returned the case to the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati with instructions to reconsider the case in light of its ruling last week in a similar case involving the beef checkoff. A court order declared: “The judgment is vacated and the cases are remanded to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit for further consideration in light of Johanns v. Livestock Marketing Assn.”
