Ciudad Juarez Inspection Point Still Open

Ciudad Juarez’s only inspection point, “Corporativo de Negocios de Comercio Exterior,” is still open today, USMEF-Mexico reports. Yesterday Mexican authorities shut down two inspection points at Nogales and Reynosa, and it was feared that the closure of the point at Juarez would follow. The closures were due to a failure to comply with a Mexican regulation that permits private inspection facilities to operate under license from SENASICA (the supervisory Mexican government agency).

Sources indicate to USMEF-Mexico that the closed inspection points at Nogales and Reynosa may be reopened in the next couple of weeks, but this has not been confirmed.
