Philippines Officially Lifts Ban On U.S. Beef

The USDA officially announced the Philippines has lifted its ban on U.S. beef and beef variety meat. The United States can now export boneless beef from cattle not older than 30 months to the Philippines. For export requirements, see the FSIS Export Requirements Library. The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) will announce BEV Program Requirements next week.

"The Philippines recognizes that U.S. beef and beef products are safe. This is another step forward in our efforts to reopen global markets for U.S. beef," U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns said in a USDA news release.

The estimated value of the Philippines market reopening to U.S. boneless beef is $2.5 million.
