Outstanding Speaker Lineup Set for USMEF Board Meeting

Published: May 20, 2011
When USMEF members meet in Washington, D.C., next week, they will be addressed by a terrific slate of high-level guest speakers. U.S. Agriculture Secretary Thomas Vilsack will speak on Wednesday afternoon (May 26) at the Opening General Session. He will be followed by U.S. Senator Max Baucus (D-Mont.), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and senior member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture.
To conclude Wednesday’s general session, members will receive an always colorful and informative “View from Inside the Beltway” from James Wiesemeyer, senior vice president of Informa Economics.

Thursday’s sessions are reserved primarily for USMEF committee meetings, but Friday’s keynote speaker will be Ambassador Isi Siddiqui, chief agricultural negotiator for the Office of U.S. Trade Representative.
“One of the reasons we periodically meet in Washington, D.C., is that it provides our members with face-to-face contact with the very top trade officials,” said USMEF President and CEO Philip Seng. “This year’s lineup of speakers is certainly no exception. Our members can certainly look forward to a very informative and beneficial meeting.”

All sessions will be held May 25-27 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. For a complete agenda, please visit www.usmef.org.
