More States Cleared to Export Pork to Russia
Officials in Russia are reporting that all A-H1N1 influenza-related export restrictions have been lifted from the states of Arizona, California, Illinois, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Texas.
These changes leave Russia’s influenza-related suspensions in place for only four states: Wisconsin remains ineligible to export beef, pork and poultry, while pork exports are ineligible from Florida, New York and Utah.
Modifications for Illinois, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Texas are now posted in the FSIS Export Library, indicating that these states are eligible to export pork to Russia effective July 3. Further clarification is being sought with regard to Arizona and California, but Export Library updates for these two states are anticipated soon. Please contact Paul Clayton or Ann Spaeth at 303-623-6328 if you have any questions regarding these changes.
