Sheep meat imported from Australia and New Zealand also can be exported to Mexico. A copy of the health certificate issued by country of origin must accompany shipments. In addition, specific certification statements required by Mexico must be provided by the origin country.

For more information, see the Export Requirements for Mexico in the FSIS Export Library.

Bulgaria

Products Must Comply With EU Requirements Starting Jan. 1

Since Bulgaria is acceding to the European Union, red meat shipments arriving in Bulgaria on or after Jan. 1, 2007, must be accompanied by certification that indicates compliance with EU requirements.

English/Bulgarian language EU certificates will be posted to the FSIS Export Library as soon as they are available. Until then, English language versions of EU certificates will be required for all shipments arriving in Bulgaria on or after Jan. 1. Exporters are encouraged to work closely with importers regarding any necessary translation.

For more information, see the Export Requirements for Bulgaria in the FSIS Export Library.
