Lifting Of Mexican Ban On U.S. Beef Expected In “Days”

USDA Chief Economist Keith Collins said on February 24 he expects Mexico to lift its ban on U.S. beef in "a matter of days."

Collins told the Senate Appropriations Committee, “We are in the last stages of our discussions," Collins told the Senate Appropriations Committee. "I think we are very   close."

Mexico is accepting beef from Canada, but last week requested a written summary of all steps taken by the U.S. government to guard against the spread of BSE.
