Comments On Antidumping Review Due Today

USMEF and the American Meat Institute (AMI) received an extension to present papers in the Mexico Antidumping case. USMEF has just learned, however, that Mexico has changed its practice and no longer grants extensions automatically to all members of an association. Each company needs to request and justify the extension individually. If you are requesting an extension, it needs to be done today, June 6.

As we reported on May 9, on April 26, Mexico announced it would initiate a review of how it applies compensatory duties on U.S. beef exporters as a result of its antidumping action. The review relates to U.S. beef exported to Mexico in 2004. All interested parties wishing to submit comments must do so in 28 working days after the announcement, which, taking Cinco de Mayo into consideration, means by today, June 6. See the online FAS report for details.
