Separate Chilled Quota May Be Set
In the constantly evolving saga of Russia’s new import quotas, Reuters now reports that Russia is considering a separate quota for chilled beef imports of 11,500 metric tons (mt) for the remainder of the year.
The news agency quoted a spokesperson for the Economic Development and Trade Ministry who said chilled beef would pay the same rates as frozen beef — an in-quota rate of 15 percent and an out of quota rate of 60 percent.
